For those of you who don’t know me my name is Bill and I have been reenacting for almost fifteen years, which often surprises people given how young I look (I’m twenty six yet still sometimes get asked to show ID at the movie theater). Anyway, for several years I kept a Civil War Blog that chronicled our units (the former Austin’s Battalion) reenacting seasons while also asking questions about the Civil War and criticizing those reenactors who were ruining the hobby, all of which got a lot of attention, especially from other infantry reenactors who wanted to see this hobby energized again. Anyway, after a while we all realized that given the attention of the blog maybe I should build a webpage for the unit, one similar to the blog, but one that also talked about our unit and helped with our recruitment goals. Having build many webpages in the past I thought ‘what the hell’ and went about doing it. Little did I know that while building that webpage our unit would disband and I, along with Bob, would suddenly have the responsibility of creating a new unit. But here we are, the orphan Boys Mess
